FAQ’s
Q: Do I have to start classes at the beginning of the session or can I start mid-session?
A: New students can start anytime. All of our classes run on a 6-week session. If you start during the session, we will gladly pro-rate your tuition.
Q: What is the annual registration fee and doe it follow the calendar year or is it a year from when I start?
A: The annual registration fee covers administrative costs and provides members with special discounts on activities throughout the year. Your annual registration starts on your anniversary date and is good for 1 year.
Q: How does my child progress through the beginning levels?
A: Generally it takes about 1 school year to progress from one level to the next. Coaches will inform the child’s parent when they are ready to move up. You are welcome to talk to your child’s coach before or after class regarding class placement and your child’s progress.
Q: How much emphasis do you put on putting recreational gymnastics into the competitive program?
A: We offer the best of both worlds! We have a successful and progressive recreation program that allows children of all ages (9 months to 18 years) to grow, succeed and have fun without joining our competitive program. However, if you are interested in having your child compete in girls gymnastics or trampoline (co-ed) we have competitive teams ranging from Level 3-Level 10.
Q: When is tuition due?
A: Tuition is due the 5th class of the 6 week session to hold your spot for the following session. We release your spot after the sixth week of the session.
Q: What should I do if my child misses a class?
A: We provide make up classes in any age and skill appropriate class as long is there is space available. Simply call the morning of the class you want to make up in, we will check for space and give you the OK to join the class for the day!
Q: What is your weather policy?
A: We follow Northshore School District for closure. If Northshore School District is closed, we are closed for all classes in the AM. For classes starting at 12:30PM, call the gym for information on closure. We make every effort to stay open for classes, however if closure is necessary or you are unable to get to our facility, we will offer you a make up class any time within the session.
Q: What are the special events and who can participate?
A: All are welcome to attend our special events. All participants need to have a current registration/medical and liability release form on file. We have special events offered throughout the year. Open gym, Parent’s Night Out, handspring clinics, and camps are offered on a space/time permitting basis. Check the website for more details regarding out special events.
Q: Is there a minimum age to begin classes? A maximum?
A: We start youngsters at 9 months of age in our Parent/Tot classes. Our Junior/Senior High classes accommodate individual up to 18 years old.
Q: Are boys and girls in the same classes?
A: Our preschool age classes, all trampoline/tumbling and karate/gymnastics classes are co-ed. We do have classes designed for boys starting at age 4 (4-6 year old boys gymnastics/trampoline) and girls starting at age 5. (Girls Level 1-3) that are gender specific.
Q: How do I sign up for classes?
A: You can register over the phone using VISA or MasterCard for payment or you can stop by our facility and register in person.
Q: Do you have trials?
A: Yes. We offer a free trial class in any age and skill appropriate class as long as there is space available. Pre-registration is necessary. All participants must have a current registration and medical and liability release form on file.
Q: What is the student/teacher ratio?
A: Parent/Tot and Preschool 1 have a maximum of 10 students per instructor (parents must participate in these classes). Preschool 2 has a 7:1 ratio. Preschool 3, Boys ages 4-6, trampoline/tumbling ages 4-6, and karate/gymnastics ages 4-6 have an 8:1 ratio. All other classes have a maximum ration of 9:1.
